Aid on the move: Responding to the mass movement of refugees in Europe

From coordinating with grassroots volunteers to negotiating ever-stricter legal and political constraints, humanitarian agencies face a whole host of new challenges when operating in increasingly globalised emergencies. 

Jan Erik Kroyer reflects on his experience in responding to the refugee crisis on the Greek island of Lesbos to shed light on these issues and offer some solutions.
